Will Herbal Lip Balm Get You High?

Even if it’s got 1000 mg of THC in it, as long as you’re purely using it in a topical manner, it won’t get you high. In order for THC to do what it needs to do in the brain, it has to first enter the bloodstream. When you smoke marijuana, it does this through the lungs. When you eat an edible, it does this through the stomach. When you use a tincture, it does this through your mouth.
Topically, however, it only absorbs into the skin cells and solely affects those cells, without entering the bloodstream. This allows it to provide localized relief to joints and such, without being dispersed everywhere in the body and up to the brain.
